Hi there
Well it's almost the end of May and winter is just around the corner. I'm not much of a fan of winter but I do enjoy the nice not meals that come with the cooler months.
Here are the cards we made at card class this month. I had a request for an engagement card so used the Bloomin Love suite for this. I made two samples one in Watermelon Wonder and one in Cucumber Crush and gave them two sentiment options.
To create this card we cut out the 'heart' shape with the Thinlit die then dry embossed the remainder of the card front. To the card base we adhered the coloured piece which is from Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP, adhered the embossed card front with dimensionals then carefully placed the die cut heart back into its slot. The filigree heart is adhered directly to the coloured paper and is recessed.
The final touch is to add some flowers and rhinestones to the heart.
Supplies:
Stamp Set - Bloomin' Love
Card Stock - Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White
DSP - Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP
Ink - Watermelon Wonder/Cucumber Crush, Tip Top Taupe
Other - Bloomin' Heart Thinlits Die, Large Numbers Framelits Die, Rhinestones, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Dimensionals
The second card uses the Drapery Fold technique. This is a great way to use up DSP which we all seem to have and not want to cut into! The first card is the one the ladies made and the other two are samples which showcase the technique in a landscape orientation.
Do you recognise the ribbon I've used here? It's the 5/8" White Organza Ribbon. To get my Watermelon Wonder colour I used a sponge and ink to change the colour :)
