Hi there
Here we are in July and I haven't shared the cards we made in June. I fell in love with the Jar of Love bundle so thought I'd use this for my June card classes. Both cards are CASED from the catalogue but with my own interpretation. Don't forget to use the catalogue for inspiration for your own creations.
The first card is based on the sample from the front cover of the catalogue.
I made a few changes to include dry embossing the front of the card base using the Fluttering Embossing folder and then adding the doily directly to the card front. The colours for my 'arrangement' are Wild Wasabi for the 'greenery', Sweet Sugarplum/Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride/Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach for the flowers. The outline of the jar was stamped in Bermuda Bay and the 'water' was Soft Sky. The bow is stamped in Flirty Flamingo
The second card is based on the Shaker Card from page 74 of the catalogue. Now this one has more 'me' than the 'catalogue' in it :)
I didn't want the whole card to be the shaker so I made a shaker section that was adhered to the base of the card. Again we had some dry embossing - love this new folder - Petal Burst. Another new thing I love (well actually I love the whole catalogue) is the new Big Shot Platform. The dry embossing seems to be so much clearer and the images more defined - highly recommend getting this.
To construct the card - take a piece of card stock 2 1/2" x 4" and cut the largest jar framelit out of the centre then sponge the card stock with Flirty Flamingo. Adhere a piece of Window Sheet (2 1/4" x 3 1/4") to the back of your cutout. On the front adhere you jar 'lid' which has been stamped in Crumb Cake - no fussy cutting required here as there is a coordinating framelit. Take a Foam Adhesive Strip and adhere around the jar outline from the back. Fill it with whatever you want - I used Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and the Confetti Stars punch. Stamp your sentiment onto a piece of card stock 2 1/4" x 3 1/4". Peel the backing from the Foam Strip and adhere your card stock. Now adhere this to the card front. Finally add your stamped flowers and stem and some 'bling'.
Shaker cards are easy to make and lots of fun.
Happy 4th of July to all our American friends.
